Two recent Anemon productions were selected at the 19th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
“The Snake Charmer”, co-produced with Forest Troop and directed by Nina-Maria Paschalidou follows Bollywood star Aamir Khan on a journey across India, as he uses his gifts as a charmer and the power of television to lure his audience into adopting radical new ideas and practices concerning the role of women. Produced in association with AL JAZEERA, SVT, YLE, CYBC, with the support of Creative Europe, the film premieres in the Human Rights festival section.
“The First Supper” is the first episode of a five part TV-series about the history of food in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean, entitled “The Journey of Food”. From the Ice Ages to the Minoan and Mycenaean palaces, the first episode of the series explores how food has shaped human society and civilization, blending reenactments and location photography with interviews with leading international historians. Directed by Andreas Apostolides, Yuri Averof, Lefteris Charitos and Nikos Dayandas, the series is produced in association with the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, SKAI TV. The episode is screened in avant-premiere at the TDF and the series will be broadcast on SKAI TV in May 2017.
