Holy Human Angel
Born on a remote Greek island, Constantina uses her body as a tool of artistic expression and personal emancipation. Using meticulously crafted eyeless masks, exoskeletons, digital avatars and gender-affirming surgery, her art traces a path of continuous transformation in pursuit of freedom and empowerment.
Constantina’s life as a young artist unfolds between moments of radical self-reinvention and periods of inward withdrawal and solitude. Filmed over five years, the documentary captures her experience, as her body becomes a canvas for personal experimentation, testing the limits of gender and identity. In her journey, Constantina turns to her family for support and acceptance, yet domestic life – dense with memory, tradition, and inheritance – becomes an emotional landscape she struggles to navigate.
Between radical exposure and quiet retreat, the film offers an intimate portrait of a young artist and a reflection on the meaning of freedom.
